All beings create strategies to protect themselves using a variety of techniques such as camouflage, armor, claws, and toxic chemistry. But in the end, our systems fail us. Shells cover the surface of “Protect”, shells that once provided shelter for snails yet can easily be crushed or broken. Ceramic thorns are fragile and the shield these forms create is an illusion of safety.
